Rachel Cadman
I started working at Bridport Leisure Centre in 1996 as a Centre Assistant and gained qualifications as a Swim Coach, Squash Coach and Tennis and Netball Coach.
I then moved into the Fitness Suite in 1997 qualifying as a Fitness Instructor and spent the next 3½ years undertaking customer inductions of the Fitness Suite.
I was promoted to the role of Membership Manager in 2000 before moving into my current role of Finance Administrator in December 2001 which is a challenging role taking care of the Centre’s finances. I am continuing with my financial studying supported by the Leisure Centre to keep pace with the ever growing business.
During my time at Bridport Leisure Centre I have been involved in several fundraising events. I undertook a 50 mile static bike ride and raised £800 for Breast Cancer. I then took part in two 7½ hour CV challenges with the Fitness Suite staff and raised over £2,000 for Cancer UK and in January 2005 I swam 10 miles in the Pool and raised £1,500 for the Sir John Colfox Minibus Appeal. Latterly I’ve been part of the Swim Teachers team that ‘competes’ in the annual Lions Swimarathon and also part of the Leisure Centre Ladies team that runs in the annual Cancer UK’s Race 4 Life.
