Duty Manager – Maternity Cover – Temporary contract

Bridport Leisure Centre is currently recruiting a key position covering for maternity.

As a Duty Manager you will be assisting in the development and management of the facilities at the Centre. You will have a positive and mature outlook and have the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. You will have a methodical mind and be willing to undertake further training and development as and when required.

The primary focus of the Duty Manager is to ensure the safe supervision of the facilities operated by Bridport Leisure Centre, including the security of the premises at all times. The maintenance of good customer relations and the setting of standards ensuring the facilities are clean and well maintained. To assume shift management responsibility and act as a role model and mentor for the operational team reporting to this position.

 

Working with us you would:

· Ensure the security of the building

· Hold responsibility for the day-to-day running and supervision of the facility

· Deliver the highest standard of Customer care

· Support the maintenance of equipment

· Undertake quality assurance checks such as plant room checks and procedures including water testing

· Responsible for all financial matters such as cash collected and reconciled

· Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility

· Train and develop staff

· Support the reception team to ensure the efficient running of front of house

· Responsible for rota planning, leave management and organisation of the team

· Hold detailed knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety at Work

· Support HR policies and procedures

Minimum applicant requirements:

· Supervisory/leadership experience within the leisure industry

· Highly numerate and conversant with computerised booking systems

· Excellent communication skills

· Proven Customer Service experience

· Ability to analyse problems and implement necessary actions

· Hold a current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)

· Pool Plant Operator qualification

 

Desirable requirements:

· Leisure Management qualification or other Management degree

· First Aid at Work

· Swim Teacher qualification

Bridport Leisure Centre has a number of exciting opportunities for people who have a passion and enthusiasm for coaching Swimming.

The Centre’s aquatics programme is growing, and we are looking for new people to join our team. This is a great opportunity for talented, motivated and committed individuals to contribute to the centre’s vision to develop core physical skills in the local community.

As a swim coach you will deliver safe, consistent swimming lessons that give people real confidence in the water, teaching and coaching people to become stronger swimmers, whether in a group or one-to-one, and across all ages.

A range of hour’s are available for level 1 and level 2 coaches across a mix of mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

About you:

• Energy and passion to inspire people to learn to swim and improve their individual performance

• Multi stroke and multi skills approach, following the Swim England framework

• Ability to monitor and record swimmer’s progress
